Charter Changes From Analog To All Digital Signals
Charter Communications gets a tune up, meaning ABC Fox Montana is now on a different channel.
Charter spokesman Brian Anderson says they're changing all the analog signals in the system to digital channels.
This started August 26. They'll do it one community at a time and finish in November.
The conversion will free up extra bandwidth, meaning new HD channels will be available and the internet will be faster.
That part can come as early as December.
To see these new channels, though, you have to have a Charter issued set top box on every television set. At most, that would cost almost seven dollars per month.
"The main thing our customers will want to do is keep an eye on their email and their mailbox for additional information that will be coming from us," said Anderson.
You should get word of the change about a month beforehand.
In Missoula, ABC moved to channel 11 while ABC in HD moved to 511. Fox moved to channel 10 and then to 510 in HD. In Bozeman ABC moved to 5 and 505 in HD. Fox moved to channel 7 and 507 in HD. You can see online how you'll be affected by the change.
