Testicle Festival Brings Out Increased Security

Posted: Updated:

Testicle Festival roars on into the night, but it hasn't always been known as the safest party in Montana.

There's a lot of fun, but also a lot of drinking, which can be a risky mix.

Matthew Powers, the event's organizer, says Saturday actually brings out more people than Friday.

Over more than three decades the festival has grown, and now thousands of people come to it over both days.

As for safety, Powers says that there are at least two dozen security guards working at all times. Each of them is apparently an MMA fighter.

Powers says they haven't had a fight break out on the premise in about six years.

"Everybody knows exactly what the security is, exactly who they are, half of them fight on tv so they know them by name and it's actually a draw because people can come here and not have to worry about things you have to worry about at your standard downtown bar," explained Powers.

Security is on the ground as well as in the skies this weekend. Montana Highway Patrol says they're going to be flying overhead in a helicopter.
