For the second time in two weeks people living on the 5 Mile Prairie in North Spokane are dealing with the aftermath of a strong summer wind storm..

The hardest hit area of the prairie was at Five Mile and Strong Roads where gusty winds blew off part of the roof of the community grange. Pieces of the metal roof fell onto the roadway until volunteer firefighters from the neighboring fire station pulled it out of the way into the parking lot. As the roof came off it also snapped the power line, causing it to fall over the roadway.

Just like the storm on July 23, winds toppled trees, snapped branches and blew twigs, leaves and debris all over the neighborhood.

No one was reported to be hurt in the storm.

According to firefighters, the storm also caused a number of small spot fires. None of them appeared to be serious at first report.
