More customers impacted by latest storm

Posted: Updated:
Spokane, Wash.- An early August storm impacted nearly 10,000 more customers than a similar storm on July 23, according to Avista.Inland Power & Light company also reported outages in the thousands. Kootenai Electric reported some outages, but most power was restored by Sunday evening.

Avista says 48,000 customers lost power after the storm hit Saturday afternoon. Most of those outages happened after large tree branches fell onto power lines. The areas most affected were north central Spokane, Deer Park, Colbert, Sandpoint and Priest River.

The electrical company says they restored power to more than half of their customers within 24 hours. They hope to have most power restored by Monday night. Some of the areas harder hit may have to wait until later in the week.

KHQ.COM - When you party with Jay-Z, just make sure you don't get stuck with the bill.  During a night out in Manhattan, he reportedly racked up a tab totaling $91,135 (tip included) at one bar! How much of that was a tip?  $11,100! Which means his server Dayhana is probably the most grateful the rapper chose to celebrate at the Playroom Lounge in NYC.
