UPDATE/KENNEWICK, WA. - The Kennewick Police Department has released new information on the body found Sunday along W. 10th Avenue.
Officers say the Benton County Coroner has confirmed Jeffery Shaw, 52, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
Police said it was self-inflicted because there was not enough evidence to show signs of suicide.
"We can't call this a suicide necessarily because suicide implies intent. Self-inflicted leaves it open. It was either accidental or it was intentional. We don't know that and we may never know that," said Sergeant Ken Lattin.
Police do not have any further details on the incident.
