Religious Ring Stolen From Home of Catholic Diocese of Yakima Bishop

Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, WA. - The Yakima Police Department needs your help finding a ring stolen from the home of a Catholic Diocese of Yakima Bishop.

Bishop Joseph Tyson says the ring was stolen Friday between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. at his home across the street from the St. Paul Cathedral. A laptop, iPhone, and iPad were also stolen from the home. The Bishop's room also had drawers and the closet rummaged through.

A night stand containing the Bishop's church ring and cuff links was also stolen. The heavy gold ring with purple stone is accented with crosses and has "Spain" inside. The ring has quite a bit of religious value to the Bishop and the Catholic Diocese.

The Diocese is offering a $500 reward for any information leading to an arrest and conviction. To report any tips, call Detective Jesse Rangel at the Yakima Police Department at 509-576-6598.
