Indians Throw Combined No-Hitter Over 11 Innings

Posted: Updated:
EVERETT, Wash. – It was truly a team effort for the Spokane Indians as four pitchers combined to pitch an 11-inning no-hitter in a 3-0 victory over the Everett AquaSox.

Derek Thompson started the game for Spokane and pitched five hitless innings with five strikeouts. From there, the bullpen completed the no-hitter thanks to the effort by Shane McCain, Adam Parks, and Luis Pollorena. Parks earned the win while Pollorena picked up the save.

The no-hitter was the first extra-inning no-hitter in the history of the Northwest League. According to Baseball-Reference, the no-hitter is the longest no-no in the minor leagues since a 13-inning one was thrown back on May 7, 2004 between the Delmarva Shorebirds and the Lexington Legends.

Offensively, Spokane struggled to hit the ball as well with the the Indians going scoreless through the first ten inning. In the 11th inning though, Luke Tendler responded with a 3-run home run to give Spokane the first lead of the game.

The Indians have now won three straight games and continue their series in Everett on Monday.
