With a 70-mile per hour fastball, Davis struck out six players in the six-inning game. In a previous win against the same team, she struck out ten. While Davis – who will become the 18th girl to play in the Little League World Series in 68 years – has been celebrated nationally, appearing on Good Morning America, the Today Show, and many interviews on ESPN throughout these playoff games, she has stressed that it is all about the team.  As the president of SCH Academy, Dr. Priscilla Sands, stated, "This team is an exceptional collection of youngsters who are as polite and courteous off the field as they are competitive on it.  They have parents who model the best of sportsmanship as well.  The school and administration are honored to financially support this amazing team as they are a shining light for the city and for the world of competitive sports.  We would all do well to emulate the Taney Dragons."

The Taney Dragons arrived in Williamsport, PA on Monday, August 11. The team will begin the tournament against South Nashville, the Southeastern Region representative, on Friday, August 15.
