SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane's own Babe Ruth 14-Year-Old team, Spokane Indians Youth Baseball's Inland Select, won the Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament in Columbia Falls, Mont two weekends ago to earn one of 10 spots in the Babe Ruth World Series in Ocala, Fla. from Aug. 15-22.

Friday UPDATE: Inland Select wins game one vs. Ottumwa, Iowa 11-1. For more on the game click here. Spokane's boys will continue in pool play tomorrow, Aug. 16, against Mt. Olive, NJ.

Saturday UPDATE: In game two of pool play Inland Select fell to Mt. Olive, NJ 9-6 despite a six-run rally in the top of  the seventh to try and force extra innings. The Pacific Northwest Region champs (Spokane) are now 1-1 in pool play. The same goes for Middle Atlantic Region champions (Mt. Olive). Inland Select will face Southwest Region winners Tri-Counties, Texas (1-0) on Sunday, Aug. 17, who beat Mt. Olive, NJ 1-0 in their opening game on Friday.

Sunday UPDATE: Inland Select found themselves in a slugfest in game three of pool play, but in the end they didn't quite have enough as Tri-Couties, TX won 9-8. The Pacific Northwest Region champs trail 3-0 in the top of the third, but that's when Inland Select exploded with a seven-run inning. They held the lead for just an inning as Tri-Counties posted five runs in the bottom of the 4th. Inland Select tried to rally in the seventh, but came just one run shy of tying the game to force extra inning.

The team left for Florida earlier today as the first team from Spokane, Wash. to ever advance to the Babe Ruth World Series. As the Pacific Northwest champs, Inland Select will face the Midwest Plains champion in game one of pool play at 5:00 p.m. ET on Aug. 15.
