22 Structures Confirmed Destroyed From Snag Canyon Fire North of Ellensburg

ELLENSBURG, WA. - The Kittitas County Emergency Operations Center is continuing to assess the damage from the Snag Canyon Fire north of Ellensburg.

Investigators say they have now confirmed 22 structures lost, including 10 homes or cabins and 12 other structures. 878 firefighters are continuing to battle the 12,500 acre fire. It is 70% contained.
Kittitas County Solid Waste will begin accepting fire debris on  Monday, August 18th, which meets the 15-day waiting period requirement. Homeowners and property owners who have reported damages from the fire can contact Solid Waste at 509-962-7542 to discuss debris removal options.
