FRANKLIN COUNTY, WA - Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney Shawn Sant wanted to make clear, in no way are the recent Connell murder and the Benton County triple homicide related.

One reason for holding this news conference was to clearly state that contrary to public opinion in no way is the recent murder that happened in Connell related to the recent triple homicide in Benton County.

Sant also explained the investigation in Connell shows that Fernando Gonzalez, who has been charged with the murder of 32-year-old John Bounhomsavanh may have recently lived with him in Pasco. The two had possibly been arguing moments before the shooting according to the prosecutor.

"The exact motive for the shooting is still under investigation but current investigation indicates that this shooting is unrelated to any other homicides or related crimes and was a confrontation between Fernando Gonzalez and John Bounhomsavanh," said Sant in the news conference.

Gonzalez will be arraigned for 2nd degree murder tomorrow morning.

In addition, 25 year-old Jose Eduardo Carcamo and 23 year-old Johnny Vongvilay are each charged with one count of unlawful possession of a firearm. They were in the car driven to the apartment where the murder happened, but that gun in their car did not appear to be the one used in the fatal shooting according to Sant.
