Security Breach at Albertsons in Washington, Oregon, Idaho
NBCRightNow.com - Customers who shopped at Albertsons between June 22nd and July 17th might want to check their bank statement.
During that time period, debit and credit card information could have possibly been compromised at nearly 400 stores in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.
NBC Right Now met with a Benton City woman who believes her family is dealing with the problem. She says next time they'll use cash.
"We've learned. The thing is, now you don't have a good score. You don't have good credit no more. Until all of this is fixed, you have to pay cash from here on out," explained Hope Brito.
Often times these hackers will wait to withdraw funds and the first sign may only be a small amount charged to test the account.
The company says they have not been able to confirm whether any card holder's data was actually stolen. However, anyone who shopped at Albertsons in that time period is now eligible for a free year of identity protection services through the company.
