SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Chiefs announced today that 19-year-old defenseman Jeremy McIntosh will not return for the 2014-15 season. McIntosh cited personal reasons for his decision.

“Jeremy contacted me Sunday evening to inform me of his decision to move on,” said Chiefs General Manager Tim Speltz. “He said he has lost his passion for the game and is not as committed as he feels is necessary to play in the WHL.

“I am hoping he reconsiders his position and as an organization we will be as patient as possible should he have a change of heart. I know and agree with Jeremy that our players need to be committed and passionate to be successful at this level.

“We expected Jeremy to be a big part of our defensive core this season and his decision is a total surprise.”

The Chiefs begin their Annual Fall Camp this week with ice sessions running Thursday through Sunday, including the annual Red/White Game on Sunday at 1 p.m. Over 60 Chiefs players will attend camp, including nineteen players from last year’s playoff roster.

All camp ice sessions, including the Red/White Game, are free and open to the public.

The Spokane Chiefs’ home preseason game versus the Tri-City Americans is scheduled for Thursday, September 11 at Eastern Washington University’s University Recreation Center in Cheney, Wash. Tickets for the preseason game will be on sale beginning Thursday, August 21 via the Chiefs’ Ticket Office.

The Spokane Chiefs’ Bud Light Opening Night at Spokane Arena is Saturday, September 27. Ticket packages for the 2014-15 regular season are on sale now and begin as low as $96. Stop by the Chiefs’ Ticket Office or call a Chiefs Ticket Account Executive at (509) 535-PUCK for more information.
