KENNEWICK, WA - Another big milestone for the Kennewick School District as one of their elementary schools is ready for students again, after a year of renovations.

Just about everything besides the outer structure of the building was redone.

This was all made possible because of a $68 million bond voters approved back in 2009.

This is the fifth school renovated since the bond passed.

They now have brand new classrooms. They are all equipped with the latest technology with a microphone for the teacher and speakers around the rooms and projectors in every class.

They have even done work on the playground.

"All of this is possible because of the support of the community, it's the community support of the bonds and levies that lets us do these kinds of thing to really create first class facilities for us to educate the kids in," Greg Fancher explained, Assistant Superintendent Elementary Education.

The project cost more than $10 million and school officials hope the new layout will bring community members in to use the library and gym areas.

Friday, school officials are holding a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. where the community can check out the renovations before school starts on Tuesday.
