Pateros School District Pushes Back 1st Day of School for Students

Posted: Updated:
PATEROS, WA - The Carlton Complex Fire in Okanogan County is now 98% contained but it's still posing challenges for the people in the area.

The Pateros school district has pushed back the first day of classes from September 1st to September 10th.

The school district pushed back the start date to give more time to fix damaged buildings from the fire and to give families who lost homes in the fire more time to get ready to go back to school.

The Carlton Complex Fire started July 14th by lightning and has burned more than 250,000 acres.
