Tieton Hosts Annual Highland Community Days

Posted: Updated:
TIETON, WA.- Tieton celebrated one of its biggest summer events today. The highland community days is your classic small town festival, that's been going on for decades, but organizers say they keep bringing it back, bigger and better each year.

The community gathers to support businesses, musicians, and great local food. They kicked off their celebrations earlier today with a car show featuring vehicles from all different eras.

But organizers say its not the attractions that keep people coming back, it's the community ties.

"It's just a great time for everyone to gather, vendors say they do more here than they do any where else around the state. It's just a great community where people come together and enjoy one another," the Chairman of Highland Days, Nora Joiner, told us.

They still have a lot planned for the event, everything from a talent competition this evening to Mexican dancing horses on display for the public.

The festival will continue into this evening and wrap up tomorrow afternoon so they encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the annual highland days.
