NBCRightNow.com - Friends and family are mourning the loss of a 26-year-old woman who died after she was hit by a car Saturday afternoon.

Police say Raquel Middleton was walking on the sidewalk near Columbia Center, when she was hit by a car driven by a16-year-old girl.

Middleton's friends say they will miss her strong personality most.

Amira Stanley met Middleton while they were both working as care givers together, they then formed a tight knit group of girlfriends at the gym.

Stanley said Middleton had a great sense of humor and always spoke her mind.

She said Middleton was recently going through a hard time and is glad she had the chance to spend some time with her just days before her accident.

"She was just fun...she was out-going and she was loud and was real, that's the number one thing about her, she was real," Stanley said, adding Middleton was an organ donor and they are hoping they will be able to save other lives.

She also said she feels for the 16-year-old girl who hit her and people should be more sensitive on social media since police have not released more information.

As far as the investigation goes, police are still trying to figure out what happened and say they will be passing it on the prosecutor's office.
