PRIEST RIVER, Idaho - A Priest River woman was killed in an early morning car crash near Rathdrum on Friday.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office told KHQ they arrived to the scene just off Nelson Loop Road, northwest of Rathdrum, just before 4:00 AM to find a 1997 Chevrolet that had rolled several times down an embankment. The woman was pinned under the pickup and was dead. She has been identified as 33-year-old Crystal M. Jacobson of Priest River.

The passenger of the pickup, 34-year-old Robert P. Dickerson from Priest River, told deputies that he and the woman were driving in the area and were headed down the hill, when the driver left the road and rolled the pickup down the embankment. Dickerson was able to climb out and go for help.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash and they believe alcohol is suspected to be a factor.
