Kittitas County Fair Brings In Huge Crowds

Posted: Updated:
ELLENSBURG, WA.- It's Labor Day weekend which mean lots of traveling and traffic, but here in central Washington Ellensburg is expected to see the biggest crowds over the holiday weekend.

Tens of thousands of people gather for the annual Kittitas County Fair, an event that's been a tradition in the community for decades.

Families and friends come here for the live music, good food, rides, and of course the Ellensburg Rodeo.

The weather looked bad today and there were a few light showers, but event directors weren't worried about the rain scarring off the crowds.

"We are starting to get a little rain, but I don't think that's going to discourage people. It's just a really fun weekend at the fair," Event Director Mickey Webb told us.

The fair really gets going tonight, they'll have their signature event "extreme bulls" and tons of live music on the main stages.

Organizers say ticket sales have gone up this year, and they're estimating about 66,000 people  will make their way to the Kittitas fair grounds this weekend.
