BENTON CITY, WA- Sleeping Dog Wines used the Labor Day weekend to make room for new wines.

The winery promoted Labor Day weekend as a way to get rid of their 2013 wines before the new 2014 wines come in.

They make around 500 cases a year on average and they have been selling fast.  They only have a few cases of Merlot and Syrah left.

“Today we decided to we need to get some of the last grapes, the last wines from 2013, and we have to get those into bottles, so we have room for the 2014 grapes.  Today we've been wrapping that up,” said Larry Oates, owner of Sleeping Dog Wines.

Winery workers were busy all weekend preparing for the new season.

The winery is open on Labor Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  They are located on 45804 North Whitmore Road in Benton City.
