Guts 'N Glory Dash Back for Third Year in Kennewick

Posted: Updated:
KENNEWICK, WA - Do you have the guts? The third annual Guts 'N Glory Dash is next weekend and there is still time to sign up.

Organizers will begin transforming nearly 200 acres of the Benton-Franklin Fairgrounds in Kennewick next week. The course will include more than a dozen obstacles like hurdles, quarter pipes, a massive mud pit and slide at the finish line.

"It's not one of the national events. We have our own little flair to it. We'll have fire trucks out here, a big American flag hanging. It's local, it's different and it's 100% non-profit which separates us from every other mud run that I'm aware of," said organizer Randy Aust.

Last year, the Guts 'N Glory Dash raised $35,000. The money went to the ARC of Tri-Cities, the Richland Firefighters Community Outreach Program and the Grace Clinic.

Organizers say every year the event is more successful. This year all of the proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the ARC of Tri-Cities and the Richland Firefighters Community Outreach Program.

The run is a 5K course and there is also a kids one-mile mud run. You can register online at http://www.gutsnglorydash.com/ or the day of the event. It is Saturday, September 13th. Gates open at 9 a.m.
