NBCRightNow.com - The Tri-Cities is being rebranded. The new brand is exciting, colorful and original according to the people that have been working on it.

The rebrand is a joint effort from the Visitor & Convention Bureau, the Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Tri-City Development Council. A Seattle based group was hired to study the Tri-Cities, find out what it's lacking or what we already have that makes us different and then promote the area with pictures and videos.

“Brighter”, “Bolder” and “Louder” are some of the phrases a new branding committee will use to set the Tri-Cities apart from the rest of the region.

"Everybody in Eastern Washington is saying the very same things. Somehow we have to position the Tri-Cities as different or better, otherwise for 300 days of sunshine, why do we have to go past Cle Elum?" explained the man behind much of the branding, Roger Brooks who was hired to find a new image for the area.

An exclamation point is a key image in the branding. They want Tri-Cities to be known as colorful and exciting. The new look will be rolled out on tourist web sites and brochures. The hope is to make the Tri-Cities a destination for visitors so they'll consider staying and investing in the area.
