Police Raid Yakima Massage Parlors to Stop Prostitution

Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, WA. -- Yakima police performed a sting that broke up a possible prostitution ring at massage parlors in the city.

On Saturday, six massage parlors were busted for practicing without a massage practitioners license. Undercover officers entered several of the parlors and asked for sexual favors in exchange for money. Workers at two of the businesses agreed to perform the acts and were immediately arrested.

Officers say this problem isn't just happening in Yakima, though.

"We're hearing about these type of operations popping up all over," Lt. Nolan Wentz said. "There was a major operation similar to this in Wenatchee. What two months ago?"

For now seven people have been arrested in connection with the sting including both men and women.
