Franklin Co. Commissioners Vote to Extend Marijuana Moratorium

Posted: Updated:
PASCO, WA - Franklin County Commissioners unanimously voted Wednesday morning to extend a moratorium on the retail sale, processing or growing of marijuana.

Most of the people at a public meeting spoke against extending the moratorium.  About ten people got up and spoke, but most weren't Franklin County residents.

Commissioner Brad Peck said the legal situation with marijuana has not evolved enough yet to give the board a clear choice on behalf of Franklin County citizens.

Peck referred to the fact that election results showed 61% of Franklin County voters were against I-502 in the 2012 election.
