NBCRightNow.com (AP) - Investigators are looking for the sources of fatal strains of E. coli that killed a 4-year-old girl in Oregon and a 3-year-old girl in Washington, and left a 5-year-old boy from Washington fighting for his life.

Health experts were to hold a news conference Thursday in Newport, Oregon.

Serena Faith Profitt fell ill after a family gathering on the Oregon Coast over the Labor Day Weekend. She was declared brain dead Monday at a Portland, Oregon, hospital.

Five-year-old Brad Sutton was at the family gathering. He's now in critical condition in a Tacoma, Washington, hospital.

Health officials say they do not believe those two cases are related to that of 3-year-old Brooklyn Hoksbergen of Lynden in northwest Washington. She died a week ago in a Seattle hospital.
