PASCO, WA - The Fiery Foods Festival will be heating up downtown Pasco this weekend.

In its second year back, organizers say the festival is bigger and better than ever.

The event kicks off at 1 p.m. in downtown following the Pasco Farmers Market, organizers say people can expect a family fun zone for the kids, a beer garden for adults and of course some spicy foods.

Organizers are bringing back some popular food and salsa competitions and just want to showcase Pasco's diverse culture.

"The whole point to have the event for Fiery Foods Festival is not only to showcase downtown Pasco but to bring people to downtown Pasco that typically wouldn't come, to showcase that it's a vibrant, fun, cultural place to be," Michael Goins, Pasco Downtown Development Authority Director said.

Organizers say people can also expect great live music picked from a local YouTube competition and headliner, American Idol winner Lee DeWyze taking the stage at 8 p-m.
