FRANKLIN COUNTY, WA - Franklin County Court Officials say people should watch out for scammers that have been threatening people with prosecution, arrest and telling them to send bail money for failing to comply with jury service in Franklin County.

Officials say scammers have been making calls and sending emails in which recipients are pressured to provide confidential data, potentially leading to identity theft and fraud.

Court officials say these types of calls and email are fraudulent and are not connected to the Franklin County Court, they say the court would never require anyone to provide sensitive information in a telephone call or email.

They say most contact between the court and a prospective juror will be through the U.S. mail, and any phone contact by real court staff will not include requests for Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, or any other sensitive information.

Court officials say if you think a scammer is trying to get your information call the Clerk of Court, Michael Killian at 509-546-3365 or 509-546-5805.
