RICHLAND, WA - If you live in Richland now's your chance to voice your opinion on school boundaries.

The Richland School District is remapping their elementary school boundaries. You can find an interactive map that shows the proposed boundaries on the district's website. The dotted lines show the existing boundaries and the colored blocks show the proposed changes.

Every elementary school will likely in some way be affected. With a brand new elementary school approved for construction, the district has to shuffle the lines to fit students where they can.

Now is the time for public input and the district says they want to hear what you think about the proposal.

"Construction is under way but any time you open up a new elementary school that means that the boundaries of all the other schools have to be adjusted as you fill up a new school," said Steve Aagaard from the Richland School District.

A public input meeting on this matter hosted by the Richland School District was Thursday night. Another one will be scheduled for October.

You can give them some input on naming the new school as well by going here: http://www.rsd.edu/nametheschool/
