Daniel Blizzard's Murder Trial Continued Friday

YAKIMA, WA.- Daniel Blizzard's murder trial continued Friday. Blizzard is accused of hiring two people to kill real estate broker Vern Holbrook.

Closing arguments were set to begin this afternoon, but a potential witness has set the trial back.

When the court returned from the break an attorney came forward claiming one of his clients is currently in jail with one of the key witnesses in this trial, Till Taylor, and that his client could be a potential witness.

The judge called the jury back and gave them a brief explanation of what happened, they were then released for the weekend.

The potential witness was not named, but she was brought in and questioned privately by both the prosecution and defense.

the court then resumed and decided the witness was inadmissible.

"That does end this inquiry, Mr. Krom, as an officer of the court brought forth information that both sides have had the opportunity to explore. There is no need to have an evidential hearing or anything else," Judge Ruth Reukaufl announced once court resumed.

The defense and prosecution told the judge they didn't think the witness's testimony would further the case.

The trial is set to resume Monday and closing arguments are expected to begin at that time.
