Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, WA.- Volleyball teams from all over the state came to Yakima to play in a popular tournament, the 12th annual Sundome Volleyball Festival.

Eighty teams were allowed into the tournament this year and organizers told us it filled up fast.

The tournament started Friday and continued into Saturday.

Event organizers told us it's a great way to for teams to sharpen their skills for the upcoming season.

"The kids just started a couple weeks ago so for a lot of them this is the first action they've see this season. they're able to come play here, get a lot of sets in, get a lot of repetition, and get experience early on in the season," Yakima Valley Sports Director Rich Austin told KNDO.

The event wrapped up around 8:30 Saturday night, where the Yakima Valley Sports Commission crowned the overall champion.
