KENNEWICK, WA- A local Alzheimer's Walk happened Saturday to raise awareness and find a cure.

This is the 5th year for the walk at Clover Island in Kennewick and organizers said they saw over 500 walkers Saturday.

People showed their support for loved ones affected by the disease and walked to bring awareness and raise the money for research.

“The only thing that's keeping us at this point from finding a cure for Alzheimer's Disease is resources.  We've got the researchers, we've got the technology.  We need the money now.  The Alzheimer's Association is participating in that fight,” said Joel Loiacono, Executive Director of the Inland Northwest Chapter for the Alzheimer's Association.

The walk helped raise thousands of dollars.
