YAKIMA, WA.- Police in Yakima are investigating a shooting on West Viola Avenue Tuesday night.

Police told us two men armed with a shotgun approached a house on the corner of Cornell and Viola.

Police say they were there to settle a debt with the family that lives there.

After a short scuffle, police say about ten shots were fired, injuring one of the suspects, 18-year old Salvador Pinedo.

“One of the suspects actually got the worst of it, he was shot multiple times, in the leg and then the back as well,” Police Spokesperson, Mike Bastinelli told KNDO.

The two young men ran away at that point and were picked up by two other suspects in a car.

They took Pinedo to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, dropped him off, and were last seen driving away in a white car.

Police say Pinedo has a wound about the size of a softball on his back, and he is not cooperating with investigators.

Police do not believe this shooting was gang related.
