Kennewick, WA
For the third year in a row, Eric Comrie has teamed up with 2nd Harvest Tri-Cities to officially re-launch the ‘Comrie Saves Hunger' campaign.

Launched during the 2012-13 season, and designed to help raise money and awareness for 2nd Harvest Tri-Cities, Eric will donate 50 cents out of his own pocket to 2nd Harvest Tri-Cities for every save he makes during a home game this season. Additionally, the Tri-City Americans have opted to match Eric's donations dollar for dollar. Eric made 951 saves at home last season and in the past two seasons, Eric helped generate $1,473 and over 1,000 pounds of food through the Kadlec Regional Medical Center Food and Book Drives.

“Every day I get to come home to a nice warm meal and some people don't have that privilege,” Comrie said. “We have so much to give that we should support those less fortunate than us.”

Fans are encouraged to join the cause by making cash donations to 2nd Harvest to help raise additional funds. Fans can also donate online by visiting the 2nd Harvest website at www.2-harvest.org.

Additionally, the Comrie Saves Hunger drive will, again, be woven into the monthly Kadlec Regional Medical Center Book and Food Drive games. There are six games where fans can bring non-perishable food items and new or gently used children's books to donate at the games. Proceeds will benefit The Children's Reading Foundation of the Mid-Columbia and 2nd Harvest Tri-Cities. The next Food/Book Drive is scheduled for Friday, October 17 vs. Everett.
