NBCRightNow.com - The resort town of Cabo San Lucas is still recovering from a devastating hurricane that hit last Sunday.

A group of women from Richland are still there trying to get back from a vacation that has turned into a nightmare.

Susan Reinkens at Elite Travel has been working tirelessly for these three women vacationing in Cabo, they were supposed to come home Monday. But, then the hurricane hit and since then they have been without water for showers and even food at times.

Their travel agent said she lost communication with the women after cell towers and electricity went out in Cabo.

The only way to communicate with them has been through texting whenever there is some cell signal.

The women are now are making their way to Mazatlan on a ferry and also a bus where already the travel agency has hotel rooms booked for them.

Reinkens says it is in these kinds of situations that a travel agent becomes essential.

"I literally spent seven to eight hours on the phone with the airlines trying to get arrangements, you know, had they been down there on their own, I'm not sure that they would have been able to," Reinkens said.

The women are set to take a flight back home from mazatlan Friday.

Earlier in the week, Elite Travel agents were able to save a local couple's honey moon before they headed down to Cabo, they were able to reroute their trip to las vegas last minute.
