The victim is recovering and in stable condition at this time.

PROSSER, WA – A stabbing in Prosser Thursday morning left multiple crime scenes spread throughout the city and forced police to lock down several schools.

21-year-old Christian Ramirez is on the run from officers after they believe he stabbed his girlfriend several times. Thursday morning, officers released the wrong last name of “Ramos” and have since updated that information to Christian Ramirez. They say he is 5'4" 130lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.

We now know the woman stabbed is in a stable but guarded condition at the hospital. Officers have processed evidence on Thursday from three different scenes. Police secured an apartment building off of Wine Country Road, a truck left behind by the Grant Avenue Bridge and even north onto Heck Road. That site is where the story began.

Captain Clay Vannoy recalled the incident from a neighbors perspective, "she saw a female covered in blood standing outside and advised she had been stabbed and thought she was going to die."

That is when the woman who found the stabbing victim called 911.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and then transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center. She was still able to identify her boyfriend, Christian Ramirez as her attacker.

Vannoy explains, "We found a blood trail leading up to the door of the apartment.”

Investigators know Ramirez at one point had gone to the Cottage Court Apartments off of Wine Country Road during the incident. An acquaintance of his said he had visited there earlier. The apartment was secured by a SWAT team and later cleared after no suspect was found.

A Cottage Court resident Luis Ruelas lives right across from the apartment in question and heard "really loud knocking. That's when our daughter came in the room kind of scared. I went outside to check the door and it was a police officer that told us to evacuate the building."

Many families had to sit and watch as their residences became a crime scene. For many of them, it was not until they evacuated that they knew a man on the run had paid their apartment building a visit.

Ruelas confessed, "There is a little bit of worry that it happened right next to our apartment."

It is unclear when, but deputies tell us at one point they believe Ramirez drove his girlfriends truck to the Grant Avenue ridge and left it there.

The people who live on Heck Road say they never would have suspected they'd wake this morning to a stabbing scene in their neighborhood. Some say they do not even lock their doors.

Zoraida Vargas, a Heck Road neighbor exclaims, "I've been living here for 12-13 years and never hear anything like that.”

We were told this morning at one of the crime scenes that Ramirez had made phone calls and that those could possibly be used to figure out where he has gone.
