Yakima Celebrated Its Oldest Parade Saturday

Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, WA.- Yakima's longest running parade took place today on Yakima Avenue.

Families from all over the area came and enjoyed the Sunfair Parade.

The parade received one hundred and twenty entries this year.

The floats and people walking in the parade traveled down Yakima Avenue and ended on Naches Avenue.

Parade goers lined the streets enjoying this community tradition.

“It's a great time, we've been coming since I was a little kid. I love to see my kids play and hear all the bands. It's just a lot of fun for the community,” Cindy Fiscus, a local resident, told KNDO.

The parade started at 10 AM and wrapped up around noon.

Yakima Avenue, which was closed during the parade, opened for mainstream traffic not long after.
