Central Washington State Fair Brings Back Alaskan Pig Races

Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, WA.- Hundreds of thousands come to enjoy the fair each year and they're always excited to see what new attractions arrive.

The racing pigs haven't been at the fair in years, but fair organizers made sure they made a comeback this year.

“They called us up and asked if we were available and this time we were its really fun and a great place to be in September, it doesn't get better than this,” Bart Noll, Owner of the Alaskan Race Pigs, told KNDO.

Noll says the pigs can do anything and everything and training them can be quite the experience.

He says the sport has really caught on across the United States.

“It's really popular the pigs are naturals they're really easy to train you don't think of pigs as athletic, but they really are,” Noll said.

The Alaskan Pig Races are just one of the many animal attractions they have at the fair, so if pigs aren't your favorite, they also have camel rides, a bunny farm, and a petting zoo.
