RICHLAND, WA- The Benton-Franklin Health District inspected child car seats Sunday to make sure they were properly installed.

The Benton-Franklin Health District hosted a free car seat safety inspection Sunday in Richland.

The district said three out of every four car seats are not correctly installed.  Car accidents are the second leading cause of death for children.

Safety Technician Annie Goodwin wanted to make sure parents were informed.

“The fact that every person that comes here leaves safer than when they arrived and to know that the parents are doing the best job that they can to be the best parents they can be,” said Goodwin.

Safe Kids Benton-Franklin does safety inspections every second Wednesday of the month at the Washington State Patrol Office in Kennewick between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  For appointments call 509-734-7034.
