DNA Test Solves Year Old Burglary Case

Posted: Updated:
OUTSIDE SELAH, WA. -- A DNA test led Yakima County Sheriff's deputies to an arrest this week.

Nearly a year ago, a burglar pushed his way through a front door on Hickory Lane outside Selah. The burglar ran away after a man shot his gun at him inside the home. Deputies found a glove from the suspect on a fence in the backyard.

They used a DNA test from that glove to determine that it was an 18-year-old man with a Yakima address. The man is currently in jail for an unrelated burglary in Benton County.
