PROSSER, Wa. - The Prosser City Council will hold its final public hearing Tuesday night about whether to extend a moratorium on marijuana licenses. Right now, Prosser's moratorium prevents people from getting retail licenses until new marijuana regulations are in place. The planning commission has recommended changes to the city council which council members will vote to implement next month. Those changes would keep growing operations out of industrial zones, keep pot shops out of residential areas and require medical dispensaries to have a state license.
Tuesday night the council will vote to either extend the moratorium or disregard the planning commission's recommendations. The public meeting starts at 7 p.m. and will be held at Prosser City Hall.
