Kennewick Police Catch Burglars Carrying Pot Plants

KENNEWICK, WA - Kennewick Police are looking for a man from Pasco who officers say ran from the scene of a burglary.

Police arrested two people Sunday afternoon, a 15-year-old boy and 19-year-old Gabriel Aguilar, after officers caught them carrying marijuana plants into two cars. Police say the back seat of one of the cars was filled with pot plants.
Officers say there was also a woman in one of the cars holding her baby. Police say she eventually admitted that her husband had told her follow him and the two others there, but that he disappeared when police arrived. Officers let the woman go as a witness.

While investigating the incident, officers say people living on the 800 block of Juniper called and reported that someone had robbed them and stolen their marijuana plants. Police say the victims explained the burglars had climbed a fence and then cut through a cage to reach the plants.

Police booked Aguilar and the teenage boy on burglary charges. Officers say this is the second burglary at the same place within a week.
