WEST RICHLAND, WA- Loved ones and friends honored their fallen heroes Sunday for the 8th anniversary of a Time of Remembrance at Flat Top Park.

The ceremony honored over 800 fallen heroes, not just from Washington, but from Oregon, Idaho, Hawaii, and Alaska, all who fought during this Global War on Terrorism.

Families rode in on motorcycles to the park and were greeted as they walked in.

It was a very emotional time as family and friends honored their loved ones.

“It's hard to relate to a parent that's lost a child when yours has come back.  But we're in awe at the honor and strength of the men and women that have sacrificed,” said Sabrina Brown, who came out to honor the heroes with her husband.

Ceremonies took place all weekend.

Saturday night families gathered for a candlelight vigil and had the chance to share their stories and memories with others.
