KENNEWICK, WA - The Ice-Bucket Challenge raised awareness for ALS over the web this summer and became massively popular.
Wednesday, a few local groups are hoping the "I-Pledge" challenge will take off the same way.
Windermere Real Estate in Kennewick, PS Media, Lampson International and the local chapter of the Veterans Coalition kicked off the "I-Pledge Challenge" this afternoon at the Southridge Sports Complex.
Janine Stange, a globally recognized artist sang the national anthem in the kick-off ceremony.

Retired Army Lieutenant Colonel Skip Novakovich relayed a message that has stuck with him for some time, “probably the best thing I've ever heard about a veteran is that a veteran is a person who at one point in their life, signed a blank check made payable to the people of the United States of America in an amount up to and including their life.”
"I-Pledge" challenges participants to recite the pledge of allegiance and share it on social media, then call on three of your friends to do the same thing. Or you can donate to a non-profit for our current and former service men and women.
