You can donate the entire month of October. You can donate the entire month of October.
KENNEWICK, WA - The 13th Annual Octoberfest Food Bank Food Drive started at all Tri-Cities Yokes, Russ Dean Family RV, McCurley Integrity Auto Dealerships, Mustang Signs of Tri-Cities and McCurley Integrity Toyota of Walla Walla on Wednesday.

Collection efforts will take place through this month, all locations have bins set up for food donations that will help local area food banks. Those food banks are Tri-City Area Food Banks, Salvation Army, Tri-City Union Gospel Mission, St. Vincent De Paul, Golden Age Food Source, and Blue Mountain Action Council.

Yokes has made it easy to donate by preparing $5.00 and $10.00 prepackaged food bags that you can purchase right at the check out stand. Darrell Tooms, the store manager at the Kennewick Yokes, explains “you know this is a great cause, the auto-plex has been doing this for a number of years now. Last year they purchased about $38,000.00 worth of food that went to local food banks here in the Tri-Cities. So, any opportunity to come in, even if you don't want to buy a bag and you just wanna come and put some food in the bin, you can do that as well.”

Last year Octoberfest Food Bank gained almost 370,000 pounds of non-perishable food donations, these businesses are hoping to conquer last years numbers. There is even a little friendly competition between the yokes stores hoping to help out those in need.
