Two Women Go To A Local Hospital After Car Crash On Yakima Ave

Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, WA.- An accident at the intersection of First and Yakima Avenue blocked traffic for a short time this afternoon.

Police say a Toyota SUV attempted to make a left turn on Yakima Avenue and smashed into the front of a PT Cruiser.

The bumper of the PT Cruiser was destroyed and two women were taken to a local hospital after complaining of sore backs and necks.

“Both vehicles had their airbags deployed so generally when the airbags are deployed they do tend to scratch and burn,” Sgt. Chance Belton of the Yakima Police Department told KNDO.

Police say there weren't any serious injuries.

They say this particular intersection is a high accident area and they urge drivers to use extra caution when driving through it.
