West Valley Fire Crews Made Fire Safety Fun

Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, WA.- Domino's Pizza in Yakima and the West Valley Fire Department joined forces today for a not so traditional lesson in fire safety and prevention.

Wednesday anyone who ordered a pizza for delivery could have gotten a surprise visit from the fire department.

Fire crews delivered pizzas today and checked out smoke detectors.

If the family had a working smoke detector they got the pizza free, if not the crew would install a free working smoke detector in the home.

Crews told us they had a blasts changing up their routine for the day.

“We like doing it, it takes us out of our normal day and it's a great community event it encourages people to think safety in a fun way,” West Valley prevention captain Christ Boisselle told KNDO.

Fire crews from west valley were out delivering pizzas from four until six.
