Hoover Elementary Stands Up To Bullying

Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, WA.- Families worked to raise awareness against bullying Saturday afternoon at Hoover Elementary School in Yakima.

This is the second annual anti-bullying rally and it hits home for some.

Shelly Mcwain says she began this event last year, after her own grand daughter was bullied at school.

She said it was painful to see a loved one struggle and that's why she took a stand.

She says the amount of support they're received from the community is overwhelming.

“It brought a lot of awareness to me, that even at a young age kids start to be mean to one another, so I thought it would be good to raise awareness,” Mcwain told KNDO.

The rally aims to tackling bullying problems at a young age.
