Flu Season has arrived early in the Tri-Cities. Flu Season has arrived early in the Tri-Cities.
KENNEWICK, WA - October is quite early for the flu season to strike, but doctors in our area are already seeing cases of Influenza.

Immunizations are the best form of protection against the fighting flu season, but this year its even more important. Doctor Amy Person from Benton Franklin Health says "We have already seen some cases of Influenza here in the Tri-Cities. Generally we'll hear about these, labs often choose to voluntarily let us know the information".

It's easier than ever to choose your best form of protection. The nasal spray is a new form of avoiding the needle and it contains a live ingredient.
Doctor Person also told us that the traditional flu shot and nasal spray cannot get you sick. although the shot is an inactive virus and the spray is an active virus.

That drowsy feeling or faint pain at the injection site according to Doctor Person is just "antibodies doing the right thing".
