Walla Walla Man Agrees During Trial he's a Sex Predator

Posted: Updated:
WALLA WALLA, Wa. - The trial of 34-year-old Maverick Lanning in Walla Walla ended with him agreeing that he meets the definition of a sex predator and should be confined indefinitely.

The trial began on Monday and on Tuesday, Lanning told the judge he needs more treatment before he's released from the Special Commitment Center on McNeil Island.

Lanning has been completing a prison sentence on the island for child sex. The state attorney general's office sought to make his commitment indefinite.

The commitment order signed by the judge says Lanning suffers from mental disorders that make him likely to engage in predatory acts of sexual violence.
