PASCO, WA- Local kids got the chance to learn what it is like to fly a plane Saturday the annual Kids' Aviation Day.

Since 2003, kids from across the Tri-Cities have learned from some of the best pilots.

The Mid-Columbia Ninety-Nines sponsored the event and had five stations set up throughout Bergstrom Aircraft.  Kids learned about communications, weather, flight control, navigation, and pre-flight.

“It's always fun.  For the kids, it's the first time for them.  As a former teacher, I've spent a lot of time working with kids and I just love teaching them and watching their eyes light up and seeing the excitement,” said Marjy Leggett, instructor.

About 50 kids took part Saturday.  They helped plane a flight from Pasco to Yakima using the skills they learned.
